Our first "Before and After" Post!

Hey Everyone!!!
Today for our "Before and After" I decided to show you how to create Finger waves/Roller sets with a 1 inch Marcel Iron, Thermal Styling spray 19 from Kenra, Kenra Artformation Spray 18 hairspray, and Bumble and Bumble pomade.

STEP 1:  Start from the bottom of your hairline right at the base of your neck and you work your way up. Take a 1” x 1” section of hair, spray with a thermal protectant/setting spray and wrap over the top of and around your iron. DO NOT release the tension of the hair as you wrap it all the way to the end of the strand. * Make sure you are wrapping the curl “on base” as you would with a real roller set.  This ensures Volume and a consistent curl pattern! Spray generously with hairspray as you go.

*As you release the curl from your Iron DO NOT tug on the curl, by NOT tugging on the curl it sets in the way you release it from the iron. If you were to tug the curl it would fall flat.

Once you’ve completed the entire head of hair like this, you then get to move on to the fun part; back combing, comb out and getting to see the pattern come to life!

STEP 2:  Starting at the base of the neck, begin to back comb, the more you back comb the greater the volume you will have. Do this to the entire head section by section.
STEP 3: Take your comb and start to mold your “S” pattern! If you would like the pattern slightly softer use a boar bristle brush. Spray with hairspray as needed. I like to use small pelican or double pronged clips to hold the pattern in place until show time! Once you get your “S” pattern constructed spray liberally with hairspray. I then took a couple of bobby pins and pinned her hair off to one side and introduced a fun flower and feather combo for a hair piece!!!
